Illinois accident linked to DUI suspicions

The incident, which is said to have occurred at about 1:30 in the morning, left the 22-year-old passenger in a critical condition. The extent of the driver's injuries was not confirmed, but both men required being cut from the vehicle.

The vehicle is believed to have hit a culvert after running into the ditch. Reports claim that tests later found the driver to have a BAC of 0.28 percent. He was accused of drunk driving as well as improperly using lanes. If convicted, he could face serious penalties. However, any worries about criminal charges might not be at the forefront of his mind, as his present concerns are likely to be with his injured friend.
